Selemon Barega wins the 5000m showdown at USATF Los Angeles Grand Prix in Los Angeles
Addis Ababa, May 18, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s Olympic 10,000m champion Selemon Barega has won the 2024 World Athletics Continental Tour Gold continues with the 5000m showdown at the USA Track & Field Los Angeles Grand Prix.
Selemon has clocked a world-leading 12:51.60 to win the race in Los Angeles.
His compatriot Berihu Aregawi finished second with the time of 12:52.09.
Meanwhile Joshua Cheptegei of Uganda clocked 12:52.38 to finish third.
