Senior officials meet with World Bank’s Independent Evaluation Group  

Addis Ababa, July 1, 2023 (FBC) – Senior officials of the Ministry of Planning and Development met with the World Bank’s Independent Evaluation Group (IEP) to assess bank’s activities in Ethiopia from 2012-2022.

The Planning and Development Minister, Fitsum Assefa and the State Minister Nemera Gebeyehu (PhD) were in attendance of the meeting.

The two sides are also expected to devise future plans and identify areas of development cooperation between Ethiopia and the World Bank upon conclusion of the meeting.

Bank’s participation in areas including promotion of private sectors and climate change mitigation will be evaluated thoroughly.

Members of the Bank’s Program Evaluation Team are expected to meet with officials and experts of various institutions.

One the meeting is completed, a new development cooperation framework will be formulated based on the lessons taken during the past decade taking into consideration future development cooperation areas prioritized by the Ethiopian Government.
