SNNP regional state licenses 9.8bn birr projects

Addis Ababa, August 5, 2020 (FBC) –The SNNP regional state investment commission issued licenses to investors with a combined capital of 9.8 billion birr last Ethiopian budget year, which ended on July 7.

Commissioner Asrat Assefa said that a total of 454 investment projects were licenced to engage in agriculture, service delivery and industrial sectors.

Projects licensed in the reported period exceeded by 6 billion birr compared to the previous year owning to peace improvement in the region and promotion made to attract the diaspora community, he said.

The projects are expected to create employment opportunities for more than 53,000 people.
