Somaliland President Muse Bihe Abdi arrives in Jigjiga

Addis Ababa, January 3, 2024 (FBC) – Somaliland President Muse Bihe Abdi and his delegation today arrived in Jigjiga town, Somali region.

Upon arrival at Garad Wilwal Airport in Jigjiga town, the President Muse Bihi Abdi was welcomed by Somali region chief administrator Mustafe M. Omer and senior officials of the region.

It is expected that the Somaliland delegation and the Somali region leadership will consult on business and security issues in the border area, it is indicated.

It is known that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) and the President of Somaliland Muse Bihe Abdi have signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding for Partnership and Cooperation in Addis Ababa on January 1, 2024. The MoU inked between Ethiopia and Somaliland is intended to serve as a framework for the multisectoral partnership between the two sides, the official statement from the Office of the Prime Minister disclosed.
