Some 61 technology companies form private sector cooperation forum

Addis Ababa, February 4, 2021 (FBC) – Some 61 companies engaged in technology related fields have set up a private sector cooperation forum under auspices of Technology and Innovation Ministry.

The establishment of the forum is tailored for making the private sectors part of the national digitization process of the economy.

Innovation and Technology Minister, Dr. Abreham Belay, on the establishing event, said the forum would assist efforts of the Ministry in addressing the bottlenecks in the technology sector.

The private sector should take the lion’s share in building digital economy, the Minister said.

Saying that the government is revising laws in the financial sector, Dr. Abreham called up on operators of the private sector to become competent entrepreneurs in the technology sphere.
