South Africa committed to strengthen ties with Ethiopia: Amb

Addis Ababa, February 11, 2021 (FBC) –South African Ambassador to Ethiopia Edward Xolisa Makaya said his country will continue to strengthen its political and socio-economic ties with Ethiopia.

The ambassador made the remark during a discussion he had with Dr Negari Lencho, Chairperson of the Foreign Relations and Peace Affairs Committee of the House of Peoples’ Representatives (HPR).

Ambassador Makaya said South Africa is committed to cement its ties with Ethiopia with the signing of cooperation agreements in education, science and technology, economy, security fields.

Appreciating South Africa’s commitment to strengthen its relations with Ethiopia, Dr Negeri Lencho said South African investors could benefit a lot if they invest here.

Dr Negeri also briefed the law enforcement operation carried out in Tigray regional state and ongoing rehabilitation efforts as well as border issue with Sudan.
