Toyota Tsusho Corporation expresses interest to expand investment in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, June 8, 2022 (FBC) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to Japan, Tefera Derbew met with Kazumasa Kimura, Executive Officer for New Business Development Africa Division COO of Toyota Tsusho Corporation and Hiroumi Ohara, Manager of power and infrastructure group of Africa Division today.

Ambassador Tefera briefed the investment opportunities, incentives, investment policies, and competitive advantages in the manufacturing, energy, and pharmaceuticals sector in Ethiopia and has called the company to invest in Car assembly, fertilizer production, pharmaceuticals, and energy generation among others.

Kazumasa Kimura, on his part, explained Toyota Tsusho’s initiatives in Africa and highlighted its activities in Ethiopia in the mobility and energy sector.

The Executive officer has also expressed the corporation’s intention to expand energy sector investment in Ethiopia, as part of its initiative in Africa.
