Turkish company plans to invest in Ethiopia’s priority areas of investment

Addis Ababa, April 13, 2021 (FBC) -Consul General of Ethiopia in Istanbul, Wondimu Gezahegn held a discussion on Monday with Erkan Evrenkaya, General Manager of Ponis Metal Industrial Company, about business opportunities in Ethiopia.

Wondimu had explained the existing investment and trade opportunities in the metal manufacturing sector in Ethiopia.

A discussion was also made focusing on Ethiopia’s priority areas of investment, the conducive environment for FDI, market opportunity, incentives given by the government, and the government’s commitment towards investment.

Erkan Evrenkaya for his part expressed the keen interest of the company to invest in exporting construction machinery to the Ethiopian market and to extend the electric panels, panel accessories, electrical metal cabinet business in Ethiopia’s market by using innovative production techniques and its superior experience.

In a related development, Ethiopian Consulate General in Chongqing, China took part in the Chongqing Urban Tourism Festival and Intercity Tourism Trade Fair.

Ethiopia’s coffee accompanied with the special ceremony was on display. Unique tourist destinations of Ethiopia were promoted during the ceremony as well.

Residents of Chongqing and other visitors tested Ethiopian Coffee and expressed their satisfaction with the coffee as well as the unique traditional ceremony.

The event was attended by high level government officials and residents in Chongqing, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
