Two more officials arrested in connection with recent attacks in Metekel

Addis Ababa, December 29, 2020 (FBC) –Two more senior officials have been arrested in connection with the recent security problems in Metekel zone, Benishangul Gumuz regional state.

Among those arrested today include Atinkut Shitu, administrator of Metekle zone, according to Musa Hamid, head of the regional state’s peace building and security bureau.

Inspector Misgana Enjifeta, the regional state’s deputy police commissioner, was also arrested on suspicion of having links with recent attacks in the zone, he said.

Previously, the regional state arrested six senior officials and a policeman in connection with the same problem.
