UN official acclaims Ethiopia’s determination to implement SDGs

Addis Ababa, April 19, 2023 (FBC) – The United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Aid Coordinator commended Ethiopia’s determination to implement its sustainable development goals.

Ethiopia’s Minister of Planning and Development, Ms Fitsum Aseffa, held a discussion with the UN Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator in Ethiopia, Catherine Sozi.

During the discussion, the Minister briefed the UN official of Ethiopia’s preparations to participate in the UN’s Conference on Sustainable Development Goals, which evaluates the implementation of the 2030 agenda and sustainable development goals.

It is indicated that despite the various international and national crises, Ethiopia has carried out encouraging activities to achieve its development goals.

The minister mentioned that preparations are being made to share the country’s encouraging experiences to achieve SDGs at the UN SDG Summit.

On her part, Catherine Sozi, praised Ethiopia’s commitment to implement sustainable development goals despite going through various challenges.

Acknowledging Ethiopia’s efforts of rehabilitation and humanitarian aid provision in areas affected by natural and man-made crises, the UN official called on local and international partners to scale up assistance to the country’s efforts to address the challenges.
