UNIDO Director-General visits Adwa Victory Memorial

Addis Ababa, February 19, 2024 (FBC) – The Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Gerd Müller, and his delegation toured the recently inaugurated Adwa Victory Memorial Museum in Addis Ababa.

During the visit, Müller remarked that the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum not only portrays historical events but also fosters the capacity for collaboration among future generations. He highlighted the museum’s suitability as a venue for conferences.

Leaders and ministers from various countries, who attended the 37th African Union Summit last weekend, also explored the Adwa Victory Memorial. Situated in the heart of Addis Ababa, the memorial commemorates Ethiopia’s triumph over Italian invaders in 1896.

Featuring a diverse collection of artifacts, documents, and photographs, the museum provides insight into the Battle of Adwa, Ethiopian history, and the struggle against colonialism.
