Road Vehicle Accident Claims Eight Lives, Injures Fourteen: Police

Addis Ababa, October 5, 2021 (FBC) – A bus accident that happened in Ale Special District of Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples’ regional State killed 8 and injured 14 people.

The district’s police chief Demeke Demissie told ENA that the accident occurred yesterday afternoon at a place called Lagano with the bus overturned.

The bus was heading from Arbaminch to Jinka town carrying 45 passengers when the accident happened, Demeke said.

Those six passengers with heavy injuries were taken to Arbaminch and Sodo hospitals while others with light injuries were treated at Gewada Health Center, around the locality of the accident.

The cause was cited ‘technical problem’.
