Visit of Secretary Antony Blinken to Addis Ababa opens new chapter in US-Ethiopia bilateral ties: MoFA

Addis Ababa, March 16, 2023 (FBC) – Spokesperson of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Meles Alem, in a press briefing, said that the visit of the U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is an epitome of the beginning of the new chapter in the bilateral ties between Ethiopia and the U.S.

The visit of the U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken marks the milestone for the transformation of the long standing bilateral relations between the two countries into the next level.

The visit was a significant step toward rebuilding and revitalizing relations between Ethiopia and the US, he noted.

During his stay in Ethiopia, Secretary Antony Blinken has held discussions with high officials of Ethiopia on bilateral and regional issues of mutual concern and implementation of the CoH and accountability through transitional justice mechanism, Ambassador Meles said.

The U.S.  Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Wednesday announced 331 million USD in humanitarian aid for Ethiopia.
