Vital Statistics, Birth Registration key to preserve the rights citizens: Peace Minister
Addis Ababa, August 10, 2020 (FBC) – Immigration, Nationality and Vital Events Agency has marked the the 3rd National Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Day today.
In her opening remarks on the occasion, Minister of Ministry of Peace, Muferiat Kamil said Birth Registration and Vital Statistics are vital to preserve the rights of every individual in Ethiopia.
It is stated on the occasion that only 13 percent of citizens have got registration of Vital Events in the country.
Over the next years, efforts will be exerted to register all births enable all children below five have birth certificates by improving business processes in the sector.
