6.9 million citizens in Amhara, Afar and Tigray regions receiving humanitarian assistance: Committee

Addis Ababa, December 14, 2022 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Committee of Ministers stated that food and non-food humanitarian assistance is being provided to 6.9 million citizens in all the three regions.

In its meeting on Wednesday, the Committee reviewed the work done so far. It was stated that food and non-food assistance is being provided to 6.9 million citizens in Amhara, Afar and Tigray regions.

Minister of Peace, Binalf Andualem, stated that the Committee is focusing on three areas. He said that work is being undertaken to provide access to basic humanitarian services in conflict-affected areas of Tigray, Amara and Afar regions.

He also stated that works are being accelerated to restart services of public institutions.
