Amb. Zhao vows to encourage Chinese firms to invest in agriculture, mining in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, December 23, 2022 (FBC) – Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia, Zhao Zhiyuan, has stated that he will encourage Chinese companies to invest in agriculture, mining and other sectors in Ethiopia.

Benishangul Gumuz Region Chief Administrator, Ashadli Hasen, held a discussion with Ambassador Zhao Zhiyuan on Thursday in Asosa city.

During their discussion, the regional chief administrator briefed Ambassador Zhiyuan and his delegation regarding the current state of affairs of the region and the huge resource potentials in the area.

He also stated that Ethiopia and China are countries that have cemented their relations in all difficult situations.

Ashadli said that the Benishangul Gumuz region is rich with various natural resources and minerals, mentioning that it is an area where investors can earn a lot with small expense.

He called on Chinese companies to invest in various sectors in Benishangul Gumuz region, assuring that the government will provide necessary support to investors coming to the region for investment.

The regional administrator expressed gratitude to Ambassador Zhao Zhiyuan for visiting Benishangul Gumuz region and donating school materials to students.

Ambassador Zhao Zhiyuan, for his part, confirmed that he chuffed with his visit to the region. He also appreciated the information provided to him regarding the investment opportunities and huge resource potentials in the region.

The region’s government communication bureau indicates that Chinese investors are encouraged to invest in agriculture, mineral development and other fields.

It is to be remembered that Ambassador Zhao Zhiyuan visited Hoha No. 10 Primary and Secondary School in Asosa Zone, Ura woreda early on Thursday and donated 1,000 school bags, 1,000 solar-powered lights and other educational materials.
