Commission toiling to distribute humanitarian assistance across Tigray

Addis Ababa, January 28, 2021 (FBC) – National Disaster Risk Management Commission stated that it is working actively on providing humanitarian assistance across Tigray State.

Deputy Commissioner Damena Darota told EPA that the Commission has been distributing relief aids in the state for the last one-and-half months taking into account the types of support in helping the people in need of humanitarian assistance.

Though the TPLF junta has completely destroyed the infrastructure, the Commission is working aggressively on easily distributing the aids even in hard-to-reach areas, he said.

As public servants and others could hardly purchase daily consumption for various reasons, the number of people seeking aid and donation is on rise, Damena explained.

Recalling the difficulties of providing assistance during the law enforcement operation, he said the security problem had made things harder.
