DPM & FM Demeke confers with UN Under-Secretary-General

Addis Ababa, March 10, 2023 (FBC) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonnen, met today with UN Under-Secretary-General and Special Envoy to the Horn of Africa, Hanna Tetteh.

DPM & FM Demeke briefed the UN special envoy about the Ethiopian Government’s encouraging efforts to implement the Pretoria Peace Agreement.

Ms. Hanna Tetteh, for her part, appreciated the efforts and commitment made by the Government of Ethiopia in carrying out confidence-building measures in the Tigray region.

Following their discussion on current critical issues, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to working together with other partners for regional peace and security.
