Embassy of Kenya, Denmark host kick-start meeting on Africa Climate Summit in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, August 9, 2023 (FBC) – The Embassy of Kenya and Denmark along with the African Union Commission hosted a Breakfast Meeting on African Climate summit in Addis Ababa.

The objective of the meeting was to initiate discussions on the potential and importance of multi-hazard early warning and action systems (MHEWAS) leading up to the Africa Climate Summit in Nairobi, Kenya between the 4th – 6th September 2023.

The meeting also aimed to kick-start the conversation on the importance of MHEWAS prior to the Africa Climate Summit 2023.

The conversation will build on the initiated work by the AUC and give room to discuss the key challenges of implementing AMHEWAS, Kenyan embassy in Addis Ababa stated .

In addition, the discussions will give input to how the AMHEWAS can support the AU Climate Change and Resilient Development Strategy and Action Plan (2022-2032).
