ENDF briefs military attachés of embassies based in Addis Ababa on peace accord

Addis Ababa, November 15, 2022 (FBC) – The Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) briefed the military attachés of different embassies based in Addis Ababa regarding the peace agreement signed between the federal government and TPLF.

Major General Teshome Gemechu, ENDF’s Director of External Relations and Military Cooperation, delivered the update to the military attachés.

Hope for lasting peace is on the horizon in Ethiopia, said Major General Teshome, stating that the peace accord is an invaluable solution to end the conflict permanently.

He confirmed that the Ethiopian National Defense Forces will continue to protecting Ethiopia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Maj.-Gen Teshome said that the effort to ensure that the humanitarian aid reaches Tigray, Amara and Afar regions will be further strengthened.

He also stated that ENDF members are currently raising money on their own and providing medical services to the people of Tigray region.

The Director said that efforts are underway for the displaced citizens to return to their home villages, according to the report by EBC.

In addition, Maj.-Gen. Teshome provided an update to the military attachés regarding the agreement signed between the ENDF Chief of General Staff and TPLF combatants’ commander, in Nairobi, Kenya.
