ERCS receives donation to support drought-affected people in Borena

Addis Ababa March 8, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) has received a donation of Birr 550 thousand from the Jerusalem Memorial Association to support drought-affected people in Borena.

According to ERCS, during the handover, Secretary General of ERCS, Getachew Ta’a, expressed his gratitude for the financial donation made by the Jerusalem Memorial Association.

He further called for such support to be strengthened since many people are in need of humanitarian support due to the current drought and conflicts that have occurred in various areas of the country, ERCS added.

Board Chairperson of Jerusalem Memorial Association, Bekure Memenan Getahun Beshah, on his part said that the Association has been providing support to people affected by natural and man-made disasters in different parts of the country, ERCS stated.

He added that the Association will also continue to provide additional relief assistance, ERCS adds.

It is reminded on the occasion that prior to the recent donation the Jerusalem Memorial Association donated Birr 500 thousand to the Ethiopian Red Cross Society for humanitarian support.
