Ethiopia, Djibouti reaffirm commitment to work together for regional peace

Addis Ababa, December 20, 2023 (FBC) – Speaker of Ethiopian House of Peoples’ Representative, Tagese Chafo held bilateral discussions with a Djiboutian delegation led by President of the country’s National Council, Dileita Mohamed Dileita.

The two sides have exchange views on ways to further elevate their existing long time people to people ties in the political and economic areas, according to ENA.

Speaker of House of Peoples’ Representative, Tagese on the occasion said Ethiopia has been carrying out various activities aimed at ensuring shared development among countries in the region.

The speaker pointed out that Ethiopia and Djibouti have been connected with different infrastructures including roads, railways, electric supply among other things.

He urged members of the parliament of the two countries to exert efforts in order to further bolster their political and economic relations.

The two sides have also stressed the need to maximize efforts to ensure peace and security in the regions and integrate the countries with development.

A Djiboutian delegation led by president of the country’s National Council, Dileita Mohamed Dileita is in addis Ababa for a three day official working visit to Ethiopia.

Dileita Mohamed Dileita is also expected to deliver a speech to the House of People’s Representative of Ethiopia on Thursday.

The three day visit of the Djiboutian delegation to Ethiopia is believed to further strengthen the existing strategic cooperation between the two counties.
