Ethiopia participates in high-level meeting on the future of BRICS

Addis Ababa, September 19, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa, has participated in a high-level closed meeting on the future of BRICS, organized by the International Security Studies (ISS) organization.

The high-level closed meeting brought together the newly added BRICS members for discussions focused on defining a shared vision for a new, emergent, and more equitable world order.

It is noted that the primary topics of discussion included envisioning what such a world order would look like and identifying the specific changes expected in the current global multilateral, financial, and legal systems.

Ambassador Desta, the Head of Economic Affairs at the Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Pretoria, delivered a remark during the meeting. In her address, she reflected on Ethiopia’s prospective role within BRICS.

She reaffirmed her country’s unwavering commitment to fostering deeper economic, social, and political cooperation among member nations.
