Ethiopia pledges continued collaboration with IAEA 

Addis Ababa, March 19, 2023 (FBC) – Ambassador Mesganu Arga, State Minister of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, met with Hua Liu, Deputy Director General of International Atomic Energy Agency and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation, to discuss ways to strengthen the Agency’s cooperation with Ethiopia.

Ambassador Mesganu Arga reaffirmed Ethiopia’s unflinching commitment to a nuclear-free world and thanked the Agency for its continuous technical assistance to regional health, agriculture, industry, and science and technology projects.

Ambassador Mesganu emphasized that the Ethiopian Government is dedicated to continuing to collaborate with the IAEA to guarantee the fulfillment of the objectives of peaceful nuclear energy usage.

Hua Liu, for his part, discussed the IAEA’s accomplishments in building connections with African member states, notably in terms of technical support in nuclear science and technology.
