Ethiopian peacekeepers in Somalia said successfully accomplishing their duty

Addis Ababa, May 15, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethiopian peacekeeping forces deployed in Somalia are discharging their duties successfully and bravely, Head of Section 3 Brig.-Gen Besifat Fentie stated.

Ethiopian Ambassador to Somalia Muktar Mohamed Ware, Military Attaché of Ethiopian Embassy in Somalia Maj. – Gen Amare Gebru and senior leaders visited the Ethiopian peacekeeping force in Somalia.

Brigadier General, the Commander of Sector Three of the Ethiopian Peacekeeping Force, gave a detailed explanation about the activities carried out by the peacekeepers in Somalia.

Ambassador Muktar Mohammed said that the contribution of the Ethiopian peacekeeping forces in fighting the Al-Shabaab group and especially in the fight against terrorism is significant.

The ambassador said that the peacekeeping force’s contribution to the people and government of Somalia is commendable and called on them to continue working with the security force and the stakeholders to carry out their continental mission bravely.

Major General Amare Gebru, on his part, called on Ethiopia to continue its participation in international peacekeeping missions.
