Four people of same family missing in Addis Ababa after torrential rain

Addis Ababa, March 19, 2023 (FBC) – Four people of same family were missing on Saturday after torrential rain brought major flooding to riverside areas of Woreda 11 of Lafto Sub City in Addis Ababa.

According to Fire and Emergency Services Commission (FESC), the deadly flooding occurred after Saturday’s torrential rain hit residential quarters in Lafto Sub City of the capital.

Nigatu Mamo, FESC Public Relations Officer told FBC that the victims aged 3, 13, 15 and 46 were at their home when the flooding hit the residential area.

Addis Ababa and the surrounding have been currently experiencing heavy rain as areas that were hit by recurring drought are getting some rain that will alleviate the disastrous condition in affected communities.
