Four suspected cases of coronavirus tested negative: Ministry

Addis Ababa, February 5, 2020 (FBC) -Four suspected cases of coronavirus in Ethiopia have tested negative, according to the Ministry of Health.

Three of the suspected cases were Ethiopians. The fourth suspected case was a Chinese national.

Their blood samples sent to South Africa for further examination have tested negative, said the Ministry.

“We just received the results of the 4 suspected cases for the novel Coronavirus and they are all negative,” said Lia Tadesse, State Minister of Health.

“There’re no confirmed cases in Ethiopia,” she added.

Ethiopia is undertaking strengthened measures against the virus at border points and Bole International Airport.
