Health Ministry mapping health posts, health centers

Addis Ababa, November 17, 2021 (FBC) – The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with Ministry of Innovation and Technology, the Geospatial Information Institute and the Central Statistics Agency, is collaborating on mapping health posts and health centers to implement a 15-year health extension program roadmap.

According to the Ministry of Health Dr. Lia Tadesse, so far, 11,103 health posts and 3,532 health centers have been mapped using various technologies, followed by all facilities, including hospitals.

The Ministry had a discussion with the officials and experts of the Geospatial Information Institute as well as the relevant departments of Ministry of Health to update its health information system and evaluate and strengthen the collaboration.
