Higher officials visit Quarantine facilities, treatment centers

Addis Ababa, April 18, 2020 (FBC) -A team comprising high ranking government officials led by State Minister of Health, Dr Dereje Duguma, today visited quarantine facilities and treatment centers established following coronavirus outbreak in the nation.

The team visited quarantines and COVID 19 treatment centers established at St. Paul Millennium Medical College, St. Peter TB Specialized Hospital, Tirunesh Beijing Hospital, Millennium Hall, Yekatit Hospital and Addis Ababa Science and Technology University.

It is to be recalled that 12,000 food banks have been established, and more than 30,000 volunteer youth are stand ready for the coronavirus pandemic response in the country.

Ethiopia has so far 105 confirmed cases of coronavirus with three deaths and 16 recoveries.

According to the latest figures from Johns Hopkins University, more than 2.2 million cases of coronavirus have been registered globally.

More than 154,000 people have died and more than 579,000 have recovered from the virus.
