MoH, Muslim Aid USA keen on enhancing cooperation PHC, priority speciality services

Addis Ababa, February 23, 2023 (FBC) – Minister of Health, Lia Tadesse, met with officials of the Muslim Aid USA (MAUSA), a faith-based American international charity that provides aid regardless of race, religion or gender identity.

The Minister met with MAUSA’s Program Director, Nadera Shibly, and Fethudin Abdella, Finance Director.

“My sincere appreciation for Muslim Aid USA’s generous donation of medical supplies and equipment worth 5 million USD to our health facilities in different regions since 2019”, Dr. Lia stated in her twitter page.

She indicated that Muslim Aid has also been supporting cataract surgery, nutrition and MCH services, WASH activities, and education in Ethiopia.

Both sides also exchanged view on future collaboration areas including strengthening PHC and priority specialty services, in addition to the ongoing projects.

The minister expressed her gratitude to Ustasz Abubeker Ahmed, Adviser to the President of Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council, for his commitment and facilitation of Muslim Aid USA’s projects in Ethiopia.
