PM Abiy Ahmed congratulates President Xi Jinping for being re-elected as president of China  

Addis Ababa, March 15, 2023 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed penned a congratulatory message to President Xi Jinping on his re-election as the president of the People’s Republic of China for the third term.

Prime Minister Abiy, in his letter, reiterated his firm commitment to further strengthen the existing bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two friendly countries.

“On behalf of the People and Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and that of my own, I would like to extend to your Excellency and, through you, to the People and Government of the People’s Republic of China my warmest congratulations on your re-election as the president of the People’s Republic of China.

I would like to take this opportunity to reiterate my firm commitment to further strengthen the existing bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between our two friendly countries.

Please accept, Excellency, my best wishes for your personal well-being and for the continued peace, progress, and prosperity of the People’s Republic of China”, PM Abiy’s letter reads.

President Xi Jinping, 69, won an unprecedented third term last week as China’s president in a highly choreographed parliamentary ceremony.
