Premier arrives in Arbaminch city

Addis Ababa, July 3, 2023 (FBC) – The city of Arbaminch has warmly welcomed Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and the First Lady Zinash Tayachew and high level federal and regional delegation.

Community members, elders and regional officials received the Prime Minister and his delegation on their arrival in the city.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed laid the foundation stone of the Arbaminch Conference Resort which will be built on a 120 hectares parcel of land in a picturesque setting overlooking Lake Abaya.

“Following the ‘Dine for Sheger’ and ‘Dine for Ethiopia’ tourism sector development initiatives, we proceeded to ideating the ‘Dine for Generations’ flagship projects with the aim of developing 8 tourism destinations nationally, the Prime Minister said during the cornerstone laying ceremony.

“With a 1.5 year completion timeline, we will continue fulfilling our growing aspiration of tapping into the USD 1.3 trillion global tourism sector revenue through the expansion of such initiatives that unlock our natural, cultural and historical wealth,” the Premier added.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and the First Lady Zinash Tayachew launched the second phase Green Legacy Initiative in Gedeo Zone, SNNP Region this morning.
