President Sahle-Work urged leaders to gender lens in navigating pandemic

Addis Ababa, October 3, 2020 (FBC) – President Sahle-Work Zewde, addressing the 25th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women, urged world leaders to have a gender lens in navigating the coronavirus pandemic.

“while women are in the frontlines fighting against this pandemic,they are also being pushed to the edges to the edges because of its multifaceted impacts.”, the president underlined.

The president highlighted the significance of the commitments made twenty five years ago and also shed light on the progress made in Ethiopia in line with empowering women.

The 25th anniversary of the Fourth Wold World Conference on Women which was held in 1995 took place online under the theme “Accelerating the Realization of Gender Equality and the Empowerment of all Women and Girls”
