Prime Minister Abiy reiterates climate resiliency, food security

Addis Ababa, July 9, 2021 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has reiterated commitment of the government and the people at large to step up concereted efforts to realize climate resilient and food security ambitions of the nation.

“We have continued planting our Green Legacy. Ethiopia’s climate resilient and food security ambitions will be realized through her children”

The government of Ethiopia has started the third edition of its Green Legacy Initiative with a view to plant 6 Billion tree seedlings across the nation and additional 1 Billion in neighboring countries.

South Sudan government has expressed interest to cooperate with Ethiopia in the green legacy initiative and plant thousands of trees in the country.

Ethiopia has been implementing mega greenery and beautification projects in various areas to expand conserve natural resources, enhance the tourism sector and realize climate resilient green economy.
