Prosperity Party vows to strengthen development, democracy and peace

Addis Ababa, December 7, 2020 (FBC) – The Executive Committee of Prosperity Party (PP) has concluded its two-day meeting after putting forward directions that help to strengthen development, democracy and peace in the country.

During the meeting held on December 4 and 5, the Committee deliberated on three agendas, namely, national and global issues as well as preparations for upcoming election, said Binalf Andualem, PP Office Head.

Regarding current national issues, he said the attack perpetrated against the northern command of the national defence forces by the TPLF junta forced the government to engage in law enforcement operations, he said.

The Committee evaluated the massacre committed against innocent civilians in Mai-Kadra by the TPLF junta and other crimes indirectly committed against civilians by the junta in other places, he said.

The Committee thanked the national defence forces, the Amhara special force and militia and the Afar special force as well as the Ethiopian and Tigray people for their support to make the law enforcement operation a success, he said.

According to Binalf, the Committee put forward direction to wrap up the campaign to bring criminals to justice, rehabilitate displaced people, repair damaged infrastructure and to return life to normal in Tigray as well as to strengthen development, democracy and peace in the country.

As far as global issues are concerned, the Committee put forward clear direction regarding the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) after discussing on the propaganda being spread to hamper the progress of the construction of the dam, he said.

Binalf further said that the Executive Committee put forward direction to make the upcoming general elections peaceful, free, democratic and credible.

Prosperity Party had made preparation to become a winner in the election and will launch a campaign by preparing an election manifesto, the office head noted.
