Two individuals suspected of killing artist Hachalu Hundessa detained

Addis Ababa, July 10, 2020 (FBC) –The Federal Attorney General has announced the detention of two individuals suspected of killing artist Hachalu Hundessa.

Artist Hachalu was shot dead in Addis Ababa last week around a place called Gelan condominium.

Attorney General Adanech Abiebie announced the arrest of the two suspects identified as Tilahun Yami and Abdi Alemayehu during a press conference issued today.

Efforts are also underway to detain the third suspect, identified as Kebede Gemechu, she said, urging the public to cooperate with police for his arrest.

According to Adanech, the first suspect-Tilahun Yami, admitted that he shot and killed the artist after receiving an order from OLF-Shene group.

The Federal Attorney General said the government would strengthen its efforts to ensure the rule of law.
