UN Secretary General António Guterres holds telephone talks with PM Abiy Ahmed

Addis Ababa, March 8, 2022 (FBC) – The Secretary General of the United Nation António Guterres has spoken by telephone with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on current issues in Ethiopia.

The two have discussed access to conflict-affected areas and the ongoing political dialogue in Ethiopia.

Ethiopia has announced appointment of commissioners of the National Dialogue Commission that will be overseeing the dialogue aimed to narrow differences and ensure consensus on key issues.

The Government has so far stated that the renewed attack by the TPLF in Afar Region caused a blockade to the humanitarian operation into Tigray.
