Youths of East Africa countries to plant tree seedlings in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, July 5, 2021 (FBC) – East Africa Standby Force (EASF) in partnership with the Ethiopian Youth Federation has arranged a platform in which youths of the East African countries will exchange experiences in peace-building area and plant tree seedlings in Addis Ababa.

In addition to the youths from the EASF member countries, civil society organizations are expected to participate in the event to be held under the theme “Youths build Peace, Nurture Environment”

Deputy Chairperson of the Ethiopian Youth Federation, Tsigereda Zewdu said the youths will participate in the “let’s Adorn Ethiopia” Green Legacy Initiative and plant tree seedlings in Addis Ababa.

She said the platform creates an opportunity that will help youths of the region to share best practices in environmental protection area, and paves way for participation of the youth community in fostering multifaceted cooperation in the region.

Head of Peace Operations’ Department Head at EASF, Brig. – General Henry Isoke said youths will get an opportunity to exchange view on peace and security matters and take practical lessons for their future careers.

He further appreciated Ethiopia Green Legacy Initiative calling the program motivational for other African countries.
