Artist Ali Birra’s body laid to rest in Dire Dawa

Addis Ababa, November 8, 2022 (FBC) – The Ethiopian legendary Afaan Oromoo Music artist, the Late Ali Birra’s body laid to rest in his home twon, Dire-Dawa, on Tuesday afternoon.

The legendary artist has passed away on Sunday while receiving treatment in Adama General Hospital.

The whole country has been mourning the death of the most decorated artist. Tributes have been pouring since the news of his passing announced on Sunday evening.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, President Sahle-Work Zewde, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Demeke Mekonnen, Ministers, regional governments’ presidents, ambassadors, diplomats, artists and Ethiopians have expressed their sadness and extended their tributes to the late Artist Ali Birra.

Early on Tuesday, Addis Ababa city and other areas of the country residents have gathered and paid their respects, and bid farewell.

Dire-Dawa city has also paid tributes to its most beloved son on Tuesday afternoon. Mayor of Dire-Dawa city, Harari region president, Somali region government officials, Oromia region government officials, residents of Dire-Dawa City and surrounding areas gathered in Dire-Dawa Stadium and paid their respects.

Late on Tuesday afternoon, the body of the most beloved and iconic artist, Ali Birra, laid to rest in Dire-Dawa City Muslim Cemetery.
