ESSS kicks off its short-term space programme in Mekelle

Addis Ababa, July 26, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Space Science Society (ESSS)’s Summer Space Programme has kick started at Mekelle, making it the first city to host the Summer Space Training (SST) program this summer.

According to ESSS, on day one of the Summer Space Programme, opening remarks were delivered by trainers from ESSS, ESSS Mekelle branch leaders, and the Vice President of Natural Computational Science.

Following the speeches, an introductory lesson on Scientific methods was given by the ESSS Staff, it added.

Day two featured lectures on Astronomy, during which trainees had the opportunity to ask questions about basic astronomy concepts.

They also took part in a sun-gazing program.

The program extends till July 29, where trainees are believed to grasp introductory knowledge in Astronomy, Satellite Technology, and Aerospace Engineering, ESSS has stated.
