Ethiopia dispatches 100,000 saplings to Djibouti

Addis Ababa, December 8, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopia has dispatched 100,000 tree seedlings to Djibouti via the Dire Dawa City Administration as part of its ongoing efforts to expand the Green Legacy Initiative in the region.

At the ceremony to dispatch the saplings, Mayor of Dire Dawa, Kedir Juhar, said Ethiopia is working to achieve its plan for shared green development by sharing its best practices in the Green Legacy Initiative with neighboring countries.

Ethiopia has sent 300,000 saplings to Djibouti in three rounds including the recent ones surpassing the pledge for 240 seedlings.

Kedier said the distribution of the tree seedlings to regional countries has a crucial significance in enhancing people to people ties apart from boosting regional development integration.
