Ethiopia looks forward to cooperating with Pakistan in counter-terrorism

Addis Ababa, December 13, 2023 (FBC) – Jemal Beker, Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Pakistan, met the Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti, and discussed on matters of mutual interests including cooperation at bilateral, regional and multilateral levels in diverse areas such as security, counter-terrorism and immigration.

During the discussion, Ambassador Jemal stressed on exchanging knowledge and expertise between the two countries on counter-terrorism, illicit trade and smuggling.

Minister Sarfraz, on his part, acknowledged the economic progress that Ethiopia achieved through reforms introduced by the current leadership.

He noted that Pakistan attaches great importance to its ties with Africa and Ethiopia. The East African nation will play a critical role in connecting the country with the African continent, he asserted.
