Ethiopia receives $18mln support for flood rapid response from partners

Addis Ababa December 9, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopia has received an additional 10 million USD for the 2023 and 8 million USD pledge for flood rapid response at a side meeting of the UN Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) event conducted between the Ethiopian team and OCHA (the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs) leadership both for CERF and EHF (Ethiopia Humanitarian Fund) in the U.S.

Edem Wosornu, Director for Operations and Advocacy. Steve O’Malley, Deputy Director for Eastern and Southern Africa and Director of Peer-to-Peer; Michael Jensen, Chief of the CERF Secretariat; David Throp, Chief of the Country-Based Pooled Funds Section  attended the meeting.

Alexandra Heinsjo Jackson, Desk Officer, Operations and Advocacy Division also attended the side event meeting.

The Ethiopian team also extended its appreciation to the UN Emergency Fund for the generous support made to Ethiopia, according to the Ethiopian Disaster Risk Management Commission (EDRMC).
