MFA assesses preparations for 37th AU Summit

Addis Ababa, December 15, 2023 (FBC) – The National Committee held second round of meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, assessing the preparatory works for the 37th African Union Summit and 44th Executive Council meeting to be held in Addis Ababa, in February 2024.

During the meeting, stakeholders of the National Committee presented reports of their activities performed in the last month per the direction set in the first round of the meeting.

The report covered works on areas such as health, security, beautification and greenery, hospitality, transportation, media coverage and basic services.

Head of the National Committee, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Birtukan Ayano, stated that the Ministry is working closely with the African Union to make the Summit successful.

Appreciating concerned institutions for the activities that have been done so far, Ambassador Birtukan has set directions for the activities to be carried out in the future.
