Somali region president lays a 500mln Birr drinking water project cornerstone in Togo-Chale Town

Addis Ababa, October 29, 2022 (FBC) – Mustafe Omer, Somali region president, laid a cornerstone for the Togo Chale town drinking water project.

Mustafe M. Omer together laid the cornerstone alongside the Minister of State at the Ministry of Water and Energy-Ethiopia, Ambassador Asfaw Dingamo, and the head of the Somali Region Water Development Office, Hassen Mohammed Hussein.

The project will be built at a cost of 500 million birr. It is expected to answer the clean drinking water requests of Togo Chale town residents. Hence, it will provide more than 60 thousand citizens with clean drinking water.

It is stated that the cost of the project will be fully covered by the federal government, especially the Ministry of Water and Energy.

Hassen Mohammed Hussein, Head of Somali Region Water Development Office, said that the project is planned to be completed in around 18 months.

According to the Somali region Government Communication Service, the requests that the people of Togo Chale town has been raising for several years has received the appropriate response and the region is said to be working to answer the community’s questions.
