AU Summit sideline consultations pay off in cementing ties among Africans: Policy Advisor

Addis Ababa, February 21, 2023 (FBC) – Foreign Policy Advisor at the Office of Prime Minister, Ambassador Taye Atske Selassie told the media that the consultations held in the sideline of the AU Summit yielded positive results in cementing ties between Ethiopia and African brothers and sisters.

Citing the state visit of President of Guinea Bissau to Ethiopia prior to the AU sessions as an exemplary phenomenon, the advisor said high government officials including the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister held fruitful deliberations with African counterparts and representatives of continental and international organizations.

He added that the speech delivered by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed shows how Ethiopia is committed to the principle of “African Solutions to African Problems,” adding that the meeting has served as key platform to expedite Ethiopia’s diplomatic endeavors.

This year’s AU Summit has offered participants with ample evidences showing how the peace dividends are trickling in Ethiopia, Ambassador Taye said.
