Ethiopian Higher Education Institutions urged to support digital diplomacy activities

Addis Ababa, March 3, 2022 (FBC) – The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dina Mufti said Ethiopian higher education institutions need to scale up their supportive work to the digital diplomacy activities of the country.

Arbaminch University Public Diplomacy Center organized a seminar on Thursday tabling papers on Ethiopia’s international relations and undue external pressures for further discussion.

Delivering an opening remark, the President of Arba Minch University, Dr. Damtew Darza, recalled the recent hand-twisting attempts and unjustified interventions in the internal affairs of Ethiopia.

According to the President, to support efforts in protecting the sovereignty of Ethiopia, academicians and higher institutions should provide valuable inputs to strengthen digital and public diplomacy activities.

It is to be recalled that various higher education institutions have started to establish their digital diplomacy centers since last year.
