Gov’t effectuating women empowerment in multifaceted areas: Amb. Bizunesh

Addis Ababa, August 9, 2023 (FBC) – The government of Ethiopia is committed in carrying through women empowerment and engagement in multifaceted areas, said Ambassador Bizunesh Meseret, Deputy Head of Mission at the Ethiopian Embassy in India.

Ambassador Bizunesh Meseret made this remark while participating in the Round Table Discussion on the topic “Global Women Diplomats – Breaking Barriers, Shaping Global Affairs” hosted by BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Hyatt Regency, in New Delhi, India.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Head of Mission highlighted Ethiopian Government’s commitment in promoting women’s equal participation in in the field of diplomacy as well as in economic, political, and social developments of the country.

She also added the need of support and mentorship provided by senior women diplomats as an instrument in inspiring and guiding the next generation of women diplomats, enabling them to overcome traditional barriers and succeed in this challenging yet rewarding profession.
