Minister held discussion with Dev’t Director of British Embassy

Addis Ababa, August 10, 2023 (FBC) – Minister for the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs Ergogie Tesfaye, held discussion with Paul Walters, the Development Director for the British Embassy in Ethiopia and Jennifer Stockill, Humanitarian Team Leader.

The discussion mainly focused on comprehensive collaboration to work on intervention of social protection areas.

It also focused on the collaboratively work to expand Social Protection Programs, Mobilize resource for Humanitarian supports and National Women Empowerment Program.

During the discussions the two sides have agreed to work on strengthening youth personal development centers, prevention of irregular migration and peace and security issues.

“My sincere thanks to the government of UK for the great support in overall development agendas and humanitarian issues in Ethiopia” Ergogie Tesfaye stated.

It is stated that the intervention of social protection areas are include capacity building, expand social protection program, Mobilize resource for Humanitarian supports for Internally Displaced People (IDP) and drought affected citizens in different regions, financial and technical support to conduct for the coming National Social Protection Conference at the African level, strengthen gender equality and women economic empowerment, supporting Youth particularly on personal development, returnees issues, peace and security were the main issues that have been discussed.
