Peace Ministry calls for collective efforts to address security issues in Metekel Zone

Addis Ababa, May 10, 2021 (FBC) – State Minister of the Ministry of Peace, Firealem shibabaw called up on stakeholders to contribute share in addressing security issues in Metekel Zone.

The State Minister discussed with officials of Awi Zone of Amhara Regional State and Metekel Zone of Benshangul Gumuz region and the designated Command Post of the area on how to bring sustainable peace and security in the area.

She lauded joint activities that have been carried out so far to deal with the security problem in Metekel Zone calling for enhanced collaborative to fully control the situation.

Firealem further stressed need to coordinated efforts from the governmental bodies, security forces and the community to reinstate the displaced from Metekel Zone and expedite rehabilitation efforts.

The state Minister also announced preparations being made by the government in collaboration with investors and several organizations to rehabilitate the displaced.
